The Bakewell Tart Shop, the first business to create and sell Bakewell Tarts more than a century ago, invites you to join the festivities in honour of this Peak District gem. The day will bring a special focus to the historic town of Bakewell, the original home of the Bakewell Tart, which has captured the hearts of generations with its irresistible combination of raspberry jam, ground almonds, and frangipane.

This year’s celebration comes with an exciting twist! The newly launched Peak District edition of Monopoly features a Bakewell Tart playing counter, marking a new chapter in the tart’s story. The Bakewell Tart Shop played a part in lobbying for this inclusion, highlighting the tart's significance to the area and its enduring popularity.

Survey Results: What Makes a Perfect Bakewell Tart?

Ahead of this year’s National Bakewell Tart Day, we conducted a survey of 2,000 Brits to find out how the nation enjoys this delicious treat. Here’s what we discovered:

Best Time to Eat: 42% of people prefer their Bakewell Tart with a cup of tea in the afternoon.
Best Drink Pairing: Tea tops the list, with 45% of respondents choosing black tea to accompany their tart.
The Great Debate: 51% of people love the Iced Cherry Bakewell Tart, while 44% opt for the traditional version with flaked almonds.
